I'd forgotten about the aluminium channel.
I used it on my last boat with great success.

dmck reacted to lure in Keeping sounder wires tidy
I sometimes fish amongst the snags on the Murray and in the mangrove creeks in the salt so I have my transducer cable protected by a short section of aluminium channel that I got from Bunnings. It is secured with 2 stainless steel screws (3mm by memory) with nyloc nuts. You can see the two screws above the water stain line. The self adhesive clip is as others have stated i.e. various types at Jaycar and if you clean the ali prior to sticking them on then they will not come off. If you need stainless steel screws, washers or nyloc nuts that Bunnings don't stock or you don't require a full packet of them then, go to United Fasteners i.e. if you only need 3 or so they normally will not even charge you.

I ran mine in flexible conduit then used zip ties. You can get the conduit with a split in it so you push the cables in rather than thread them through

dmck reacted to Rybak in Whats you Favourite scaling tool for fish over 3kg?
All good, but get someone else to do the cleaning....problem solvered. 😂.
No need to scale fish over 3kg. Just skin or cook with scales on as they come off simple as with the skin & keep the moisture in.

I scanned mine, then printed it as a smaller version (several copies) and laminated the small copies.
One in the wallet, 1 in the boat... all the time
Had a PDF in my fone too... until I lost the micro-SD card😭

dmck got a reaction from David_C in Question about Tuna oil
Many of the tuna oils available are a mix of tuna oil and 'something else', to thin it out and reduce the cost (read... increase the profit...)
Check the packaging info for the % of tuna oil

dmck got a reaction from newtontoney in Question about Tuna oil
I'm pretty certain that fish and fish offal are OK, else crabbing would be banned using nets.
I've never heard of blood being used to mix with tuna oil, at least not as a commercial product.
