Just a heads up guys. Came across an instagram account tonight masqurading as a young lady who fishes adelaide hills creeks and streams for trout.
None of her photos are Legit, and a reverse image search revealed at least one of the photos she is claiming as her own is actually one of Meppsta's (I presume)

The account is https://www.instagram.com/ruzzomelissa/ if anyone wants to check it out for any of there own pictures.

The two blokes above have definitely covered a lot and give some good tips, so I would go by what they said definitely.
What I can say is that Squid are versatile in terms of tides, just make sure its more towards morning or more towards the afternoon, and even if its not, they're still available. They really are awesome fun and you don't have to spend much in catching them. Port Noarlunga Jetty is good, just cast out into the weed and retrieve out, use pinks, oranges and greens, or red and whites. Can be good fun for the kids also!

G'day Nick and what UP has mentioned is very good and some great tips.
I live down South and mostly fish from Pt Noarlunga jetty during Summer where you can get are good variety of fish.
Fishing the low tide doesn't bother me, but do prefer to have an incoming tide. That said, and if fish are on the slow side, once the tide turns then many time the fish come on the bite better.
From the jetty around low tide, you can get Gar (towards end of jetty with Gents - but drop a burley bucket in as well to bring them in), small tommies (but can be a nuisance at times) and squid (when water is clear helps and dodge tides the squid will be there too).
In the shallows you could get onto some Mullet, maybe YFW (and bream by the submerged rocks but not if water is out too far).
Some  good ST/Salmon of late using SP's about 1/3 way along.
Jetty to Onk river can get Mullet, YFW, ST's and good Salmon when they come in.
I don't fish the Onk, but see people fishing low tide, but they don't seem to have much water to play with imo. But they get YFW, Mullet, Bream and if very lucky a Mully.
Christies Beach each side of the outlet, can get ST, YFW and Mullet and the O'sullies breakwater Mullet, Bream, St and Gar.
The other beaches, Moana, Maslins and Pt Willunga have Mullet, occassional YFW, STs and Salmon.
You can Gar from all the beaches, but you need to burley (stick a rod holder into sand and put burley bucket to it - not with rope, use a clip for ease).
Hope that helps, but I reckon you'll need to burley up for all species to help cause

I occasionally have some time for a fish in between kids school drop off and pick up some days but unfortunately this usually means its usually low tide (start fishing around 10am). Would love to fish at the ideal times but these times don't align with other responsibilities so i try to make the best of the time i have.
I am south of Adelaide, where would be the most productive place to target at low tide eg. noarlunga jetty, the river or beach? I am only targeting bread and butter fish like tommies, ST, gar and squid.
are there any techniques to use at low tide that improve your chances?
Fishing to me is getting out there regardless but a small feed always makes the day better!

Low tide wading is one of my favorite ways to fish!
Enables you to cover a lot of ground and find any structure where the fish might be holding that you cant usually reach.
Im not overly familiar with the Southern area. You mention Noarlinga - try around casting some slugs & SPs in and around the the Onk mouth. Otherwise i'm thinking Marino, Hallet Cove, Pt Willunga, Maslins, Sellicks, O'Sullies?
Basically anywhere where there is structure. Working the blue line is a great start but anywhere where there is structure; in and around holes, gutters, reef, broken ground etc.
Light tackle and predominantly lures readily land ST, tommies, squid, snook & flatties. Small worm SPs will land both yfw & kgw but you'll likely need bait for the gar. Could always wade out to the blue line and burley as usual for gar. Likely bring in tommies, gar and if your lucky - squid & snook too!

So i have been given the opportunity to get away for the week with the olds to Cairns. We are staying in Palm Cove and being me I will be taking a couple travel rods to have a bit of a flick
I will be doing it all landbased and taking lures with me. What sort of gear should i take?
What Rod/Reel combos? and lures should I be taking?
I know there is a little creek system a couple hundred metres from our hotel that has Barra, Tarpon, jacks in it and I know Palm Cove jetty itself has plenty of fish. But is there anywhere else i should be trying?
We will be having a hire car to get around so I don't mind travelling a bit. i got just over a month to sort some stuff out so any tips or hints would be fantastic

Nice pic Adrian. Watched a doco on them that was an eye opener. In some cases after mating, while the male is catching his breath, the female turns around, grabs him and chews his head clean off. Nasty girls.......

With the new laws in place for PFD's I had a browse through the suppliers "rewards" and found this.
Cost me $0.00, no need for govt. voucher exchange and didn't leave the office. 3 clicks on the mouse and 2 days later delivered to my desk.
Would have used as the Squid Queens birthday present but she works in the same building

    Yep, second what Brutus says.
Near the Causeway there is nice lawned areas especially along Flinders Parade where this a small playground also - grab some fish and chips from 'The Original Fish & Chip Shop' in Ocean Street  and pop around to lawns.
The Causeway and Screwpile jetty (on Granite Is.) has Gar, Tommies & Squid.
The Bluff wharf (or off the rocks) along Franklin Parade has Squid and a Snapper was recently caught there too, but has a rocky/weedy bottom (seals some times sunbaking on the rocks in front of you, so can make the fish disappear).
The beaches generally has too much seaweed around for my liking.
The Inman River and/or Hindmarsh River do have some bream as does Encounter Bay lake (around the rocky structures).
If you have time, have a drive around to Pt Elliott Horseshoe Bay - a great little family area with nice beach, lawned area (with small playground for memory), kiosk.  If it is a bit windy or swell is up from generally the South, the waves hit some big rocks called 'The Sisters' and one of those rocks is large and round.  When the wave hits it, it gets covered in white and resemble a Pudding with white custard over it   The rock is usually referred to 'The Pudding'.
Hope that helps and enjoy the family time.

When the kids were little we used to head to Normanville & stay at the jetty Caravan Park, either camping or in a cabin. We always had a great time.
The beaches from Normy to Carrackalinga are great for kids & dogs.
You can beach fish from Lady Bay all the way to Carry, Second Valley Jetty is not far away & neither are the rocks at Myponga Beach.
The cafe at Normy Jetty has recently changed hands & is apparently great & Yankallila Bakery is famous for its goods.
I think it is a better spot than Victor, less crowded & less commercial.
    Cheers

    Hi All,
Looking to take the family (wife & toddler, possibly dog) on a weekend away down south along the Fleurieu Peninsula in the next month or so. Unfortunatel I have almost zero experience with the area.
Primarily it will be for family time. We are thinking coastal (walking distance to beach), family friendly (toddler friendly especially) but I would love to be able to duck out for a few hours in the morning / evening and flick some HBs/SPs at the local Nemo population.
Does anyone with experience in the area have any advice on something that would match that description?
    Cheers TL

Victor Harbour is a popular spot. You have many accommodation choices as well as eateries.
Granite island is a good family destination, there is a horse drawn tram thingy that crosses the causeway to the island (quite cheap). Once on the island there is a nice walk around it (not too far or strenuous) with ocean views everywhere. Calble lift to the bottom. At night on the island you can watch the ferry penguins come ashore. People fish of the wharf area, the causeway and off the rocks on the island.
