Tinker 1,645
What is your favourite species of fish to catch and why??Freshwater or saltwater, and also what is your preferred method of catching them, bait or lures?I will start it off with bream. I like catching them on bait, and I love the power to weight ratio. They are one of the best looking fish around in my opinion.I also love catching redfin on lure, because redfin fight just like a bream.Cheers,Steve FilGors37
CallopHunter 1
AUSSIE SALMON, on the metals off the beach, casting into a school and hooking up is the BEST feeling going around, especially on light gear!! Tinker and Dylbaa
gilbert 0
bream.either bait or lures.good fighters, and very cunning.anything else is a bonus. salmon trout just annoy me, but they are good when nothing else is around. Tinker

Ugly4Life 41
Flathead on lures/soft plastics. Nothing better than wading in knee deep water on a nice warm day flicking a minnow and suddenly feeling that hit as you skip it across the bottom. netman21, reelin and Tinker

fished out 0
Aussie Salmon. So many ways o fish for them, so many different fights they can give. You can make the fishing as frantic or as laid back as you like. High speed poppers, Metals, Soft Plastics and Baits all work. dylzzz69 and Tinker

jackblack86 5
Eagle rays. Pretty amazing and exciting watching them go side to side and launching out of the water a few feet. But salmon on light gear is also fun! Actully I like catching them all Tinker

Tinker 1,645
Really appreciating the feedback on this thread. Different strokes, different folks.Cheers for your input, every fish you guys have mentioned gets me thinking. Each fish is fun in its own way.Murray Cod will be my next challenge over the next few months. I have been studying up on them intensely, coz its a fish I have only caught once before, and I don't know why, but I really like them.I just hope one day I can list it as my favourite fish to catch.Cheers,Steve

Piranha 76
Large estury perch on lures for me, aggressive predator that requires some skill to extract from their snaggy homes and put the humble bream to shame with their fight, pound for pound the hardest fighting fish I have encounted salt or freshwater in Aus :)lovem Chief and Tinker

dylzzz69 95
Mine has to be surf fishing for salmon. OOOHHHHH so much fun when they jump out of the water trying to shake the hooks and using the waves to their advantage trying to get away.Followed closely by flathead on soft plastics. Nothing better than walking around in the water exploring the sand holes and getting slammed by a nice lizard! Tinker
