Savage

The summer wasnt great for me on the reds front, only managing 1 fish after the ban (none in 2015).
 
This winter however, i'm making up for a dismal summer and having the best winter whiting seasons to date
 
Been out 7 times and managed (over a 3 month period), and we've managed to get 1 bag limit of 24, 20, 18, 15, 12, 5 and another 17 on the weekend.
 
Some big squid were also around this weekend. We managed 23. Got them home and the asky had a bit of weight to it...they ended up weighing 11kg's all up
plenty freeze bags with only 2 in them. I'll be cleaning dinner when i get home tonight.
Plenty to go around for the family and future bait on the reds, crabs and future whiting aka leather jacket sessions.
 
In amongst the whiting we are bringing home 3 or 4 red mullet everytime and leather jackets are just driving us mental.....
 
So this has been the best winter for me personally

The old boy and I managed a few over the weekend. 3 ruggers and 1 over 60.I have to agree with LAS. I've made 3 trips in the past 3 weeks and managed to bag out with 4 above 60 the first trip, a big fat d0nut the second trip and as mentioned another 4 the third trip.The second trip i anchored where we caught the first lot. Not much was showing on the sounder and the results emulated the sounders reading.The third trip did the same thing, after 30mins of berley and nothing, picked up anchor and sounded around for some activity.After 10mins of berley touching the water, we were on our first Red. They weren't too far away. we had only moved approx 60m in a different direction.Keep at it and they'll come.Savage

Looks terrible and uncomfy.A conventional rod you can change your grip when you're tired, either under your arm or putting the butt of the rod on your pelvis (ohhh the explaination in words doesnt sound too good haha ).I cant see you fighting a serious fish for longer than 15minutes like this. Your arm will BURRRRN!!!!There is no way you would be able to put this rod in a gimble belt and fight the fish.Stupid idea i think ESPECIALLY for $500. No thanx

I dont target sharks nor do I have anything against shark fishing. But i'd LOVE to know how much time and money (probably tax payers money) has gone in this whole 'investigation'.This whole shark fishing between certain hours is utter BS.These pathetic 'do gooders' need to go get a hobby and stop ruining other people's hobby and past times.The guy is not a criminal, do some real investating and catch these mongrels that are beeting people in their own homes, steeling cars etc etc.
