Raider reacted to Stealthy Fisher in 2015 Saltiga and Twinpower
Its unfortunate that the manufacturers of these reels mentioned above wont improve the bail roller issues by going away from bearings and using bronze bushes, as there isn't a bearing strong enough in design to cater for the stresses  involved in using 80lb braid and fishing the reel to its capabilities, I have a Saltiga 6500 exp and its getting patched up again.  for a reel of that price tag I thought I was getting something that was rock solid but alas I was wrong its now on its third set at 4 yrs old. We need someone to keep these guys honest  congrats to Alan H

I was running 3lb on one of my bream outfits for a while. It was ok when there were no snags around but you really lack the ability to work fish around structure. Then there is the lack of feel, if you're working the flats or open areas with hard bodies its ok. I didn't like it when using soft plastics or bouncing a hard body around structure.

Sounds like a fun bucket list. I would have no problems using my Nitro Magnum Butt with a certate 2500R for all these fishing styles. I use it plastic fishing for snapper with 15lb Tufline. A second spool with 30lb braid would cover trolling and casting in Monduram and the Murray. The Nitro is 7'6" and rated 4-6kg but can fish heavier than this. Most new 2500 sized reels will have up to 7 or 8kg drag and heaps of capacity for up to 30lb braid.

    Hi Guys

This will probably be of interest to a few of you, Alan Hawke has basically rated the new Saltiga Expedition Reels as the best reels currently on the market as well as possibly the best spinning reels ever made, with his score for the new Saltiga surpassing the 08 Stella.

That is true and I will be buying a Fin Nor Lethal myself as apart of my surf outfit but the thing is the lethal just does not feel any where near as good as a Saltiga........I don't know if that warrants the $1200 difference though.

An interesting read here...............Alan Hawke has reviewed the Fin Nor Lethal 100 a $150 reel and rated it among the best on the market, he has even rated it better than the new Saragosa. It might be worth a look for anyone looking at a budget offshore reel.
