    Good luck everyone    :)

Sponsors and prizes will be added throughout the season and updated in this post.

  2. The long awaited announcement of the Strike Hook / Spotters Salmon comp winners. Probably very frustrating for those in the running for a prize, my apologies.

We had to have a good hard think about a winner with this one. The rules stated that all fish had to be measured and photographed with a measurement tool of some sort. Considering the amount of fish caught by some members we understand this was hard to achieve, taking a photo of each fish while a school is bubbling away is just not going to happen. Something we can improve on in the future.

Going by numbers and size and some kind of measurement in photo we put together a few members salmon posts adding all fish we could see in the photos to come up with a winner.

Major Prize: Spotters prize pack including, very cool cap, sun shade, sunglasses strap and a pair of awesome SPOTTERS FURY (Gloss Black) with Halide lens. I'll also throw in a Strike Hook beanie and neck warmer seeing that it's still cold some days.

    The winner is.... WILDA!!!

Due to the quality of the reports and great information from a certain member we decided on one runner up prize including salmon lures and poppers, I'll throw in a Strike Hook beanie and neck warmer in this pack too.

    Runner up is.... DOOBIE!!!

Well done guys, you caught some great fish and wrote up some very good reports. Thanks for sharing your salmon adventures with us all.

A big thank you to Spotters who sponsored the salmon comp with an awesome prize pack. Head over to www.spotters.com.au and check out their extensive range of polarised sun glasses, I highly recommend Spotters sunnies for fishing. I never go fishing without mine!

  3. G'day everyone,

The Strike Hook BBQ is something we do every year at the OnkaStompa and is real helpful for raising extra money on the day of the OnkaStompa for the Childhood Cancer Association.

At the moment we have 3 definite volunteers to help man the BBQ. A huge thanks going out to Southie and Doobie who will be be there along with myself.

We are looking for another volunteer or two. If anyone can lend a hand for even a short time we would be very grateful.

Some of the tasks involved are cooking the snags, preparing the snags and bread, handing over drinks dealing with orders and handling cash.

If anyone would like any further info just send me a pm or post down below.

    Cheers :)

  5. Thanks for the tips and opinions. I don't really care about the savings, I just like a bit of DIY and try not to waste possible resources. I still have some lead laying around but thought I might as well add to my collection but only if it was easy enough to do and was worth the effort.

I have a recycle yard close to me so I might just take them down there.

    Cheers guys :)
